Back from HongKong!
This trip has made me realised how similar S'pore and HK are. Like their MTR and our MRT and how the central resembles our lucky plaza and city plaza on sundays. haha yeah, except maybe they are more creative, using cardboard boxes to mark their territories on the bridge. I guess the sad part about this trip was that there wasn't much time to really tour around, since much of our schedules were packed with practices, rehearsals and of course, the concerts. The venues for the concerts, well, didn't exactly matched my imagination, and the number of performers was MUCH more than the number of audiences. The setting was kind of informal, maybe that was why it was the first time i felt like sleeping in an actual concert and i didn't put in my hundred percent. The Chinese songs were especially crazy, i couldn't play like ninety-five percent of it. Anyway, i was really really happy when the concerts were over! Haha everyone felt the same way! All the waiting time during rehearsals were torturous.
I really loved the ONE day when we were allowed to go around on our own! We were dropped off in causeway bay to go shopping but the area was filled with brand names, which spell expensive, so almost everyone left that area. Me, chiu yee, jingyun and yee ting went around together that day! I was really glad that yee ting was around cos she could speak cantonese! After touring causeway bay, we bought octopus cards, HK's version of EZ-link cards, and took the MTR to Central! Cos we heard that there's a H&M in Central. After arriving in Central, we walked and walked and walked but we couldn't find it! We realised only at the end of the day that it turns out we had walked in the direction! Well, it could have been a blessing in disguise cos we had the chance to take the tram to the nearest MTR station. The tram was really skinny haha. Anyway we decided to visit the factory outlets at Dong Chong?, which was all the way at the end of the MTR line. Then after the time was up, we made our way back to meet up with the rest. It was kind of sad cos time had passed so fast and being an indecisive person, the time we were given wasn't sufficient for me to shop enough! At night, we went to ladies market, which looks like bugis street except that it's much bigger, but again, the one and half hours we had wasn't enough, but i managed to buy stuffs for my siblings. Sorry friends, i didn't managed to buy souvenirs for you guys! Then, like at midnight, me, chiu yee and jas sneaked out, despite the teachers' countless warnings to tell us not to. We took the MTR to the pub area in Central. We actually ran into the CO conductor at the MTR station but thankfully he didn't say anything. We entered into the quietest pub in the area and had a HTHT session. Once again, it made me appreciate and be thankful for the life that i have and sorry that i couldn't do anything to make them feel better, except to be a good listener. Although the decision to sneak out had been risky, I was glad that we did it. After we got back to the hotel, we continued to talk until 5.30 am. All the lack of sleep in HK explains why i have been sleeping until 12 plus for these past 2 days.
Only after arriving in the S'pore airport that it dawned upon me that I won't be seeing all the strings people unless i go back to school, which made me feel kind of sad. That i won't be playing together with them in an ensemble anymore. Even though my journey in Strings hasn't been exactly smooth-sailing, since i wasn't as good as the rest, i was glad for all the friends that i've made and my awesome desk partner that have stuck with me from the beginning to the end.
